KettleGuard Review

I was so excited to receive my KettleGuards in the mail along with Grip Power Pad Lifting Straps.  My husband put me through a great kettle bell workout to really see how the KettleGuards worked.

Lifting with kettle bells is new for me, I normally get nervous when I have any movement where the kettle bell flips over and hits my forearm and wrist.  I felt more confident with the guards, the kettle bells bounced right off of them and they were really comfortable.  I even had more stabilization in my wrists using them.  They are soft and machine washable, these are something I highly recommend for anyone who lifts using kettle bells.

We did a little video, I know my form is not perfect but you can see how the guards protect my wrists.  Also I never look at my husband when he is training me, I focus on one spot and keep my focus there.  You don't know how annoyed I get when he at times moves right in front of my focal point, it completely throws me off ;)

I am thoroughly enjoying the change lifting with kettle bells.  My body feels an entirely different type of sore after these workouts and the fast pace really keeps my heart rate up.  I can't wait to see the different changes that adding these workouts in will bring to my body as I prepare for my competition!

  1. I think those are a great idea! I didn't even know they existed. I sometimes hesitate to use kettle bells with a client (especially more fragile ones) for that reason.

  2. The first time I used kettlebells in a workout, I was so afraid of dropping it and/or hurting myself! Nice to know there are guards you can use!

  3. I haven't been using Kettle bells long. My trainer at the gym has me do exercises with them. I feel like they are easier to do things like squats with them than say dumb bells.

  6. My coach has me do a lot of kettlebell workouts. I doubt she'd let me use these guards, since she won't let me use gloves when I lift. I think I"d like these tho!

    1. I bet you would like them, they are simply for safety and to make your workouts more comfortable. There is nothing wrong with using something to help stabilize your wrists :)

  7. I'm also super nervous about kettlebells...I feel like I really hurt my wrists in the past with these things. These guards sound like a really good idea.

  8. That is a great invention for kettle bells. I have really small wrists and have always been afraid of them.

  9. I really should us KBs more often! I love doing KB swings as a lower body and cardio move. Also definitely works on my grip strength which is certainly lacking!
