IFPA Pro Jamie Keen T-walk

Jamie is just freaking phenomenal!!!!!!

SO BLESSED

I am so, so happy to be able to say that I WILL be competing in October!!!

Thanks to an amazing and extremely supportive woman I am blessed to have in my life, my suit will be purchased, I don't know what I would do without her and I am grateful everyday for our amazing sistership!  Just so, so humbled by the support and desire to help me achieve my dream :)

I didn't go crazy in these last couple of days, I had put on my brave face of being ok with waiting 10 months to compete, inside I was crying.  I had already cut my calories, started my intense cardio and increased the weight on all of my lifts, more than ready to keep going and now I can!  Last night I did indulge and eat two pieces of pizza, oops, well that's my cheat night for the week :)

Monday was insane I did burpees and hill sprints, the hill I used is right by my work.  Damn that hill is long, I've ran it before but to sprint all the way up that thing, holy crap.  I managed to get in eight hills, vomit and decided I was done.  That night I went to the gym with Kyle where I did core and legs, yes LEGS!  My squats could have been lower but my legs were so, so exhausted.

Yesterday morning I was up bright and early and lifted back and shoulders.  It was a good workout but I was feeling just "off".  I know a lot of it was emotionally based, sometimes it is so hard to get those emotions in check with so many different things affecting you.  Mentally I'm feeling so much better, actually pretty freaking amazing today obviously :)

Kyle is excited that we get to continue and I get to compete in May, he has felt beyond horrible these past couple of days, I'm sure he still does but if things were in his control we would not have run into the issues we ran into.

It's like both of us have an extra push now, I better look damn good in my suit and show that it was worth it ;)

Now to figure out posing practices and walking in those damn shoes.  I wear high heels a LOT and some of them are higher than the shoes I have, but still to "strut" in them is different than just walking obviously.

I will post a video of a beautiful competitor, Jamie Keen, doing her T-walk.  I will strive to be as graceful as she is and hopefully not trip ;)

Tough Decision

So Kyle and I discussed the show in October and came to the decision that it would best for our family for me not to compete.  Don't worry though I will be competing instead in the NANBF Nutri-Sport Natural Iowa Championships in May 2014 in Des Moines, I will then also compete in Best of the Midwest in October 2014 in Cedar Rapids.

We've had some situations that were beyond our power and financially I can't justify purchasing my suit and the registration fees required in the next few weeks.  Bella's birthday is the weekend of the show and I want her to have a great birthday party and not be stressing about how to pull everything off.

Fingers crossed things will work out for Kyle in the next couple of weeks so that we can be in a better place as a family and be in the position that I can compete in two shows next year without feeling financially stressed about it!

The pros of this decision are that I will be able to compete in the "Beginner" class for the show in May, that is a big plus!!!  I have 10 months to continue to build my figure, put on more muscle and present an amazing "product" for that show.  I already have a great base to build on and am really looking forward to continuing my hard work over the next 10 months.  I will also get to go watch the show this October and see everything first hand before actually competing. More time to focus on posing and confidently strutting my stuff in my very high heels :)

The big con in this decision is that the show in Des Moines is much bigger than the show in Cedar Rapids.  I know I will feel more pressure to be "perfect", but that's what the extra months will be for with my training.  Thankfully it is still close to home so my family will still be able to be a big part of everything and come see me in my debut!

I am not sad or even disappointed, I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that this decision has been made.  I will of course continue to blog about all my crazy workouts and post many, many photos, you just get 10 more months of it now before my debut ;)

This is the third year in a row I won't be completing my dream, but I really look forward to completing it at the age of 33!  I will never give up, I just pray that for once life doesn't throw so much at us, especially so close to the big day.

Here's to many more workouts and a phenomenal 2014!!!

Actually 11 Weeks, Hopefully

Damn it, miscounted my weeks, I only have 11 weeks to go before the show, eek!!!!!

We have hit a big speed bump, keep your fingers and toes crossed for us that Kyle gets hired on full-time where he is currently working, they are starting to let the seasonal workers go and if he doesn't get hired on full-time I'm not comfortable getting my suit for the show which will mean no competition in 11 weeks :(

I will continue to work my butt off and it can't happen in October then I will see what other shows NANBF has close to our area.  I would be insanely disappointed as the show I want to do is here in Cedar Rapids, it's a small show and I could have all of my supporters there!  I can't imagine starting off in a bigger show but I am beyond determined to achieve this dream of mine.  We should know something in the next couple of weeks and I would have to get my suit ordered ASAP!
